This Sunday, 8th November, is Remembrance Day. A number of memorial services will be held across the borough to mark the occasion. Here is a look at some of the main services and ceremonies, which all local residents are welcome to attend.
A service of remembrance will take place at Bromley Parish Church. Those who wish to attend are being asked to arrive before 10:45am. Following the service, there will be a procession to the War Memorial, where wreaths will be laid.
Beckenham War Memorial
The service of remembrance, which will include laying of the wreaths, will start at 10:50am. Those who wish to attend should be at the War Memorial by 10:30am. The service will last around 45 minutes and will be followed by a parade.
Holy Trinity Church in Bromley Common will have a remembrance service starting at 10:00am. After this, wreaths will be laid at the churchyard memorial at 11:00am.
Residents in Chislehurst can attend the service taking place at St Nicholas Church, which begins at 9:30am. Following the church service, wreaths will be laid at the War Memorial at 10:50am.
The events in Orpington will start with a ceremony at the War Memorial that begins at 10:00am. There will then be a service at 10:50am at All Saints Parish Church. A second wreath laying ceremony will follow at Canadian Corner.
