A local businesswoman highlighted the benefits of flexible working patterns for employees and employers at the latest Beckenham Business Association (BBA) event.
Jane Knight, the founder of Successful Mums, was speaking at this month’s breakfast event held at Kelsey House. Her company is involved in helping mums get back into the workplace. They offer career advice, access to employer networks, and training to support women who have taken a career break to start a family or those who want to return to a more flexible position.
The audience members, who represent a range of local businesses, saw how flexible working can be an advantage for everyone concerned. It enables women to work around family life and increases their confidence.
Ms Knight also showed how this approach can benefit businesses by providing happy employees who enjoy a healthy work/life balance. It can be useful for smaller businesses that might not have the capacity for full-time staff. In addition, the flexible hours mean that businesses can operate outside of normal office hours in order to meet the demands of their clients.
If you would like to attend the next BBA meeting on 23rd September, you can find further information on their website. First-time visitors and BBA members can attend for free; entry for everyone else costs £10.
