Falling off a ladder and breaking his vertebrae and damaging his spinal chord led doctors to give the horrific news that he would never walk again.
Philip White was lifting heavy floor tiles in January when the accident happened and it was his son Louis that heard a "lifeless voice" crying for help.
What's followed was a 6 hour operation at St Georges hospital to fix the damage. It looked like he would be paralysed from the neck down and not be able to walk again.
Philip has made "miraculous" improvements through best in class treatment and self-belief. He is now at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and remains in a wheelchair.
