A man was stabbed in the face late on Sunday night, 3rd August, on Beckenham High Street, sparking a major emergency response and concern among local residents.
The attack occurred just after 11pm near Croydon Road, outside a popular chicken shop on Beckenham High Street. The victim, a man in his 40s, was found nearby with facial injuries and taken to hospital. Police have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening.
Emergency services, including multiple police vehicles and ambulances, quickly flooded the area. Beckenham High Street was cordoned off as forensic officers and detectives carried out investigations.
Residents have described the scene as chaotic and expressed concern about rising violence in Beckenham town centre. Many took to local forums and community pages to ask why such incidents are becoming more frequent.
The Metropolitan Police are continuing to investigate the stabbing and are urging any witnesses or anyone with mobile or dashcam footage to come forward. They are particularly interested in footage from around Beckenham High Street and Croydon Road at approximately 11pm on Sunday 3rd August.
