A national chain of gyms is set to create around 20 jobs when it opens its latest fitness centre in Orpington later this year. PureGym will open their new site in the Walnuts Shopping Centre this winter.
This is further good news for the local community, which has already seen a significant rise in employment levels this year. The latest figures announced earlier this month showed that the number of people in Orpington claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in September was almost 30 per cent lower than it was at the same time last year. The launch of the new facility by PureGym will help to create even more jobs for the local area and continue the economic growth.
In addition to benefitting the local jobs market, the new gym at Crown House will also help to improve the health and fitness of people living in and around Orpington. The gym will have more than 220 machines and other gym equipment, along with more than 50 classes each week that are available as part of the membership package. The facilities will also feature excellent changing areas, contemporary showers and a range of training areas, including power plates, suspension trainers and kettlebells.
When the new gym opens, it will provide local people with affordable membership options that do not require lengthy contract commitments.
What do you feel is needed to improve the health and fitness facilities that are available in the area? How do you think this new gym will benefit the community?
