July’s Market on the Green takes place this coming weekend, Saturday 18th July, and gives the residents of Beckenham the opportunity to try out some new sports and sample delicious local produce. The event takes place on Beckenham Green from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
This month’s event will feature a Kung Fu display and mini tennis sessions for you to try out. There will also be a fantastic range of live entertainment on offer, which is all free to watch and enjoy. The line-up includes The Lost Folk Collective, Franck Alba School of Music, The Tin Men, and Beckenham Community Choir.
Visitors will be able to browse the wares that are on offer at the 40 different stalls, which will be selling a host of locally made crafts, produce, and food. Some of the items on offer include sauces and preserves, handmade cards, jewellery, ciders, artisan breads, fruit gin, toys, clothing, and organic fruit and vegetables. If you get a bit peckish, there will be a mix of food stalls, including a gourmet burger company selling from a vintage Citroen van.
There will be plenty of entertainment and activities on offer for the children as well, including face painting, a fun fair, and a pizza-making competition. The Beckenham Market on the Green truly is a local event for all ages.
