The £3 million enhancement project at Beckenham Place Park is close to completion. Since November 2023, improvements have focused on reducing flood risk, enhancing the River Ravensbourne, and increasing biodiversity. Funded by Lewisham Council, the Environment Agency, and the Mayor of London’s Green and Resilient Spaces Fund, the project includes new meadows, ponds, and rewilding efforts.
Visitors can enjoy a new playground, multi-use games area, and improved paths, with an off-road cycling trail and a café with public toilets on the way. The upgrades were celebrated recently by local leaders, children, and environmental partners, showcasing the park’s transformation into a greener, more resilient space for the community.
