Beckenham Connection: Emily Damari Freed After 471 Days Of Captivity By Hamas

British-Israeli citizen Emily Damari, whose family has deep roots in Beckenham, has been released after enduring over 15 months of captivity by Hamas. Emily, 28, was abducted from her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza during the October 7, 2023, attacks and suffered severe injuries, including the loss of two fingers.  ?

Her mother, Mandy Damari, who grew up in Beckenham, campaigned tirelessly for her daughter’s release. Expressing immense relief, Mandy stated, “After 471 days, Emily is finally home… In Emily’s own words, she is the happiest girl in the world; she has her life back.”  ?

Emily, an avid Tottenham Hotspur supporter, extended her gratitude to the club’s fans for their unwavering support during her ordeal. New images show her holding a Spurs scarf, symbolizing her resilience and connection to her London roots.  ?

The Beckenham community, along with international supporters, played a significant role in advocating for Emily’s freedom. Her release not only brings joy to her family but also highlights the strength and unity of the Beckenham community in times of crisis.
