From starting in 2012 as a monthly community 'pop-up' cinema for grown-ups in an 84-seater studio theatre (based at Langley Park Centre for the Performing Arts in Beckenham) and now in its 5th year, FILMBOX shows two films per night, at least twice a month - our screen 1 seats over 400 patrons. To date we've shown 133 films, to over 15,000 people - the cinema is run by volunteers who have managed to create a professional cinema experience, which offers a wider choice of films, including World cinema, documentaries, indie films and classics, as well as catch-ups of current hits - with no popcorn mess - and a sociable bar, free parking and friendly faces. Tickets £8 and £5. Open to members and non-members alike. We are going to celebrate our 5th birthday on Saturday 30 September 2017 with a free film festival - open to the whole community. Over 1000 patrons attended our first birthday film festival in 2013, so we're hoping for even more this year and are looking for local business sponsors for this event - please email us via the website for details. Membership scheme available - with discounts and benefits. We have supported local charities, such as Latch, Bromley Mencap, Food+ Bromley and Demelza House and national ones, such as MIND and MNDA.  FILMBOX is a member of Cinema for All, London Film Hub, Bromley Arts Council and is a BFI Neighbourhood Cinema.
