Work Could Begin On New Sheltered Accommodation

Those seeking sheltered accommodation for themselves or their family members in the local area could have another option in the future. A development company has purchased a piece of land in Chislehurst, and they plan to build a retirement complex on the site if their plans are approved.

McCarthy and Stone, a retirement home builder, have completed the purchase of the Queen Mary House site. The area on Manor Park Road will become a new retirement complex under proposals set out by the company.

They already operate a retirement property on St Paul’s Cray Road. This existing development, Faulkner House, provides a selection of one- and two-bedroom premium retirement apartments. The property includes a range of features, including landscaped gardens, a club lounge, a 24-hour emergency call system, and a shared conservatory.

The proposals are still in the early stages, but a public exhibition will be held to allow residents and other interested parties to have their say on the plans. Those living and working in the area will be invited to discuss the proposed site together with McCarthy and Stone and highlight any concerns they might have. Local residents will have a chance to see the plans prior to the public exhibition.

If you would like further information on the proposals, you can contact the company on their Freephone number, 0800 298 7040.

How do you think this new proposal will benefit the local community? What features would you be looking for in a retirement property?
