A gym in Orpington has beaten some of the top facilities in the country to scoop a prestigious industry award. Elite Gym won Strength Training Gym of the Year at the National Fitness Awards.
The awards ceremony, which took place at the Athena conference venue in Leicester, have been running for six years. This year’s ceremony, which saw more than 20 different awards handed out, was hosted by Olympic swimming medallist Steve Parry and fitness entrepreneur and Apprentice 2014 candidate Katie Bulmer-Cooke.
Entrants underwent a thorough assessment in order to determine the winner in each category, which included having a guest visit the gym to check on the facilities and talk to staff and members.
All aspects of the businesses were examined, including customer service standards and member retention levels, and reports compiled for the judging panel, which chose the winner in each category from a shortlist of up to seven nominees.
Elite Gym was commended by the judging panel for the quality of its equipment and the size of the gym.
Situated on Lagoon Road in Orpington, Elite Gym is Bromley’s biggest strength-training gym. Staff members of the American-style warehouse gym aim to provide a passionate atmosphere for all members, whether they are training for a competition or want to improve their basic fitness.
