Singing boosts our general well-being and mental health, but did you know that it can also reduce levels of snoring? This could be a blessing if you or your partner snores on a regular basis. If you fancy joining a choir, the Rock Choir is a contemporary group that has a number of classes in the Bromley area.
Research conducted by the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust showed evidence that people who snore might benefit from singing regularly. Joining a choir can be a fun way of exercising your vocal cords, and it’s also a great opportunity to make some new friends.
Fun for everyone
Rock Choir has more than 16,000 members across the country, and the groups are open to anyone. When you first attend, you will not be subjected to an audition; they’re not looking for people with a particular musical knowledge or experience. If you fancy singing along to some popular tunes on a weekly basis, you’re more than welcome to join.
The groups meet once a week for rehearsals and sing a range of rock and pop songs that have been specifically arranged. They also perform at a number of events throughout the year, including some for charity.
There are a number of groups that meet in the local area, with options in Bromley, Beckenham, and Orpington. The Rock Choir website has more information as well as a feature that helps you locate nearby groups.
