The summer months are the ideal time to see what the parks and green spaces in the borough have to offer. The Friends of Beckenham Place Park run a number of events that are open to members and non-members alike. The events are all free to attend, but donations to the funds are very welcome. If you fancy joining in, learning something new, and making friends, check out some of their upcoming events.
On Sunday 19th July, they will run a general walk around the perimeter of the park. Anyone wishing to join should meet in the car park outside the mansion at 1:30pm.
Recent budget cuts have reduced the number of days that the park has someone in attendance to pick up litter to just two per week. In order to help keep the park looking clean and tidy, the Friends are running a litter pick on Sunday 16th August from 10:00am. Volunteers will meet up by the mansion portico.
For those who haven’t visited the park yet, the Know Your Park walk on Sunday 13th September could be quite useful. This walk will begin from the Old Bromley Road car park at 2:00pm and will consist of a walk around different parts of the park to see the varying habitats.
