The next AGM for The Beckenham Society will be held this Thursday (23rd July) as part of their open meeting.
The AGM will take place in St Edmund’s Church Hall on Village Way in Beckenham. Refreshments will be available for attendees from 7:30pm, and the meeting will begin at 8pm. All local residents are welcome to attend, including non-members as well as members of the society. There will be a £2 per person entrance charge.
The Beckenham Society’s work
The Beckenham Society was originally formed 70 years ago under the title of the Beckenham Planning Group. The society and its members work to promote Beckenham to the wider region and beyond. Rather than being solely focused on one area, the society works for the whole of Beckenham.
It has a wide remit, which covers town centre improvements, planning issues, the environment, healthcare, and crime prevention. The society works with a number of local organisations, such as residents’ associations, Bromley Council, local businesses, the emergency services, healthcare providers, and the transport network.
The Beckenham Society welcomes new members who want to make their contribution to the local area. Annual subscriptions to the society cost a minimum of £5 for each household or business.
Further information on the work of the society and how you can join can be found on their website.
