Have you ever thought about becoming a foster parent? Would you like more information about how you could offer a child, or children, a supportive environment on a temporary or long-term basis?
If you answered yes to these questions, then you will be interested to learn that a Fostering Information Event will be held on 10th February for those who are interested and wish to learn more. The session will be held in the Committee Rooms at the Civic Centre from 6:30pm to 8:30pm; it is free and advance booking is not required.
The Bromley Fostering team will kick off the event with a presentation outlining what is involved in the process. This will be followed by a chance to speak to social workers, the recruitment team and current foster carers, all of whom will be able to answer your questions and help you determine if fostering is a good option for you.
Fostering comes in a variety of forms, with some children and young people requiring a home environment for only a few days and others needing help until they become adults. There are opportunities to foster babies all the way through to teenagers, providing a place to live when their family is no longer able to care for them.
You can find out more about the information session and fostering in Bromley in general through the Bromley MyLife pages.
If you are a foster carer in Bromley, what do you enjoy about the work? How do you feel you are supporting children and young people in need?
