Selina commented "We wanted to do something really magical for Beckenham and also showcase the market. I decided to open a market in Beckenham because I’m passionate about shopping locally and supporting independent traders. I wanted to bring to Beckenham a completely unique shopping experience, where one can met the individual traders and makers behind the craft, whether that be artisan food and drink , jewellery designers, craft, artists or clothes designers.".
With 40 handpicked stalls, artisan food, street food, Christmas grotto supplied by Whippersnappers in Dulwich village, all proceeds of this sponsored event will go to local charities. Graffiti wall, live acts, DJ, workshops are also on hand. Every trader has been handpicked on originality, creativity and quality and is a completely new experience for Beckenham.
Traders from Bromley borough, Greenwich market, Herne Hill market, Crystal Palace Market and Covent Garden as well successful traders on social media will be present. Come along and meet that makers and buy unusual gifts this Christmas not found on the high street.
Selina went on to say "By choosing to shop locally, not only does it strengthen community links, it gives the local economy a real boost. I feel that a handmade revolution may be on the table for Great Britain as it has such a huge following already”.
The event will be supporting 3 charities – Bromley shelter, Brighter Beginnings and St Christopher’s.
