Beckenham Business Day Success!

A day of inspirational and expert speakers, stands, workshops and networking on a number of business topics, was held in Beckenham last month (27 September).

The third Beckenham Business Day, organised by Beckenham Business Association (BBA) and supported by Beckenham Together BID, was held at the Odeon Cinema on Beckenham High Street.

Over 100 local businesses attended for a day of networking, advice sessions and practical talks on key business topics.

It was opened by the Mayor of Bromley Cllr Kim Botting and her consort Cllr Mike Botting.

Speaker topics included Sources of Alternative Funding; The Beginners' Guide to Local SEO; BE Irresistible: The Three Keys to achieving success in today’s competitive marketplace; Your Digital World and Sales for Millennials and Beyond.

BBA chair Jackie Groundsell ran her ever popular speed networking sessions, and lifestyle motivator, speaker and author Mathy Lisika-Misende, was MC for the day.

A raffle on the day, with prizes donated by local businesses, raised £180.75 for MINDCare Dementia Support, Beckenham, part of Bromley & Lewisham Mind, a charity that provides support to help adults with dementia stay in their homes and local communities.

The event was sponsored by Beckenham Odeon Cinema, News Shopper, Beckenham Business Association, AAA Minicabs, Waitrose, Tangent Office Supplies, Burger & Bubbles, MasterLight Photography, Peter Schneiter Photography and was supported by BBA member businesses 1230 The Women’s Company, Bailey Ahmad, Gradfinale Yearbooks, Jane Rogers PR and Carol Ann Walters PR.

Jackie said she was overwhelmed with the positive feedback the BBA received from the businesses that attended, saying: “Not only was the atmosphere electric from the moment the doors opened but the day was filled with compliments from people wanting to know when the next event was going to be held.

“We’re proud to know that we’re meeting the needs of Beckenham businesses as the success of the day shows.”

Plans are already underway for next year’s Beckenham Business Day, scheduled for the last Thursday of September, with further details to be released soon.

A BBA Christmas event from members and guests will be held on Thursday 6 December.
