Why Manor Road Closed

It’s taken a week but Manor Road is expected to reopen shortly after a burst pipe caused dangerous conditions.

Thames Water who are responsible for the leak said “The leak in Manor Road was repaired on Friday and we’ve been filling in the hole and replacing the road surface today. We hope to reopen the road tomorrow weather permitting.”

It was decided to close the road last week when the leak and the cold weather started to create areas of black ice.  Last week the Kelsey and Eden park police tweeted “A very cold morning today with black ice on the road. Manor Road Beckenham is currently shut due to a water leak that has frozen over causing vehicles to skid. Please take care out there.”
