Local community groups and charities are crucial in providing support for the most disadvantaged people in the area. The Bromley Community Fund aims to help those organisations by providing grants to enable them to maintain or expand their services. They are now receiving applications for financial support.
Groups that wish to apply for a grant need to submit their application before 5pm on Monday 30th November. The fund can offer grants from £500 to £3,000 depending on the requirements and suitability of the charity or organisation. It looks at the current hardships and needs within the local area and aims to support those groups that help to tackle them.
Supporting disadvantaged people
The fund gives priority to groups that are working with the most disadvantaged people in our community and where the need is greatest. Those applying for a grant need to work within one of the specific areas of service in Bromley that the fund supports. These are:
- Helping disadvantaged young people to gain more educational achievements
- Offering support for older people and those who care for them
- Supporting vulnerable communities and people
Further information on the Bromley Community Fund and how to apply for a grant can be found on The London Community Foundation website.
Do you work in a group that you think could benefit from this fund? What services do you offer to the local community? How would you use the additional financial support?
