The Beckenham Town Centre Working Group is asking businesses in Beckenham for their opinions on the future look of the town centre. This follows the granting of funds from Transport for London (TfL), and the money will be used to make improvements to the town centre.
The Beckenham Town Centre Working Group will have their next meeting Thursday, the 10th December at Beckenham Library from 7:30pm. Businesses from across Beckenham are welcome to attend. The meeting will be an opportunity for the business community to hear updates on the work of the group to date, including the design of Beckenham Green, the Albemarle Road junction, the entrance to the Waitrose car park and Beckenham Junction station.
Some improvements were already made across the town centre before the successful bid to TfL. These were carried out after local community consultations and include a new heritage trail guide that provides illustrated details on walks through the Bromley area that feature places of an historic nature or have interesting features. In addition, new street furniture was installed in the High Street area, with new fingerposts added to enable pedestrians to get around the town easily.
Further details on the meeting can be obtained by contacting Stephen Wood on 0208 313 4316, and the full agenda is available to view online.
What do you think of the initial improvements to Beckenham town centre? How do you think the working group should make further changes?
