Bromley Council has announced a public consultation on changes to the validation requirements that are needed for planning applications. If you want to have your say on the changes, the process is live for eight weeks and feedback needs to be received before 22nd July 2015.
Overview of the changes
After looking at the national guidance, Bromley Council has reviewed the local set of validation requirements. Small changes have been made to a number of existing items. Their aim is to make it easier for applicants to see the necessary requirements and to ensure that the most current policies are used.
There have also been some additions to the requirements that will affect non-householder applicants. These are necessary to ensure that the council meets the current policy and legislative requirements, that the designs produced are of a high quality, and that sustainability issues are considered.
As part of their work on the planning system, the Council is aiming to reduce the timescale of applications by asking for certain elements as part of the initial application. This will limit the need for conditions to be imposed and additional submissions.
