If you would like to use your professional or life experience in a new way, becoming a governor within a Bromley school could be right for you. For those who are considering volunteering in this area, a taster session will take place in the borough in September.
The school governor taster sessions are run by the Governor Services Team at Bromley Council. The next one takes place on Monday 21st September between 7:00pm and 9:00pm. The session will be held at the Widmore Centre on Nightingale Lane, Bromley BR1 2SQ. The event is free to attend and is suitable for those who are thinking about becoming a governor at any school, including academies.
Becoming a school governor gives you the opportunity to shape the minds of future generations. It is a chance to do some positive work in your spare time, and it can provide you with a rewarding and challenging experience. In this role, you can really make a difference within your local community and help to raise standards and achievement levels. A school governor works alongside the teaching and leadership team to challenge and support them whilst ensuring all their statutory duties are satisfied.
For further information on the session and to book your place, you can visit http://www.bromleyedconline.org.uk/ or call 020 8461 8658.
