Co-op Funeralcare in South London to participate in charity football match
The initiative aims to raise much-needed funds for mental health charity and neonatal unit at local hospital
June, 2022, UK - Colleagues from Co-op Funeralcare in Earlsfield, together with staff from ICTS in Epsom and St. Helier University NHS Hospitals are set to go head-to-head in a charity football match on Saturday 18th June. The teams will work together to raise funds for mental health charity Mind, as well as the Neonatal Unit at St. Helier Hospital.
The team will be supported on the day by Celeb FC who are a group of Celebrity & Ex-Pro's Footballers dedicated to raising money for charity and supporting local causes.
Alternatively, those wishing to support the teams can simply come and watch the match from the stands, cheering on friends and family members making up each competing team.
The staff participating hope the football match will get them closer to their £2,000 fundraising goal. All funds raised will be split evenly between Mind and the Neonatal Unit at St. Helier Hospital.
Sarah Drinkwater Funeral Service Manager at Co-op Funeralcare said: “Promoting positive mental health is a cause close to all our hearts, and we wanted to do something that the community could get involved in, so why not have a football match? The local NHS and Co-op have worked closely over the pandemic, so it made sense for us to do something together and raise funds for two fantastic causes that have made such a real impact on our community, helping many families in need of specialised support.”
