Bromley town centre is set to benefit from the opening of new premises from hotel chain Travelodge. This will provide cost-effective and convenient hotel rooms in the heart of Bromley for both business and pleasure visitors.
Travelodge is the largest independent hotel group in the UK. The company made the announcement about their Bromley venture and also provided details on two further hotels in Burgess Hill and Wood Green. The chain has now exchanged contracts on the Bromley site, and work is expected to begin soon on the development.
The Bromley Travelodge is expected to open by the summer of 2017. The hotel will be situated within The Mall and will provide 58 rooms. The company has invested a total of £22 million in the three hotels, which will create 75 jobs. Those available at the Bromley site will provide a boost to the local jobs market.
The Mall, which is owned by Henry Boot Development, is a prime location for a town centre hotel. It creates additional footfall and increased revenue for the existing retailers and adds value to the entire complex. It will enable vacant parts of the centre, including office space and car parks, to be utilised. It will also attract hotel users with its range of retail and food outlets in the local vicinity.
Do you think this hotel is good news for Bromley? How will a new hotel benefit other parts of the local economy?
