Ann Greatorex and golfing partner Evelyn Collington have qualified for the national finals of the American Golf Adventure Golf Championship after showcasing their precision and skill at Croydon World of Golf with an incredible low score of 17.
The pair from Beckenham and West Wickham, Kent, has played together for a number of years after forming a friendship when they met through the Langley Park Golf club. They will be demonstrating their exceptional putting once more at the blue ribband final in September, which will be hosted at the iconic midlands Ryder Cup venue the Belfry. They will be competing against other regional qualifiers but hope to come out on top once more.
The Adventure Golf Championship by American Golf has been created to introduce more people to the game. It is designed to give complete beginners the chance to compete alongside seasoned players with the emphasis on friendly competition and most of all fun.
Daniel Gathercole – Director of Marketing and Communications at American Golf commented, ”We’ve added Adventure Golf to our Championship events this year so that anyone can come along and have fun taking part in an American Golf event, even if they’ve never picked up a golf club before. Adventure Golf is a fantastic way of introducing young people to golf, and it’s great that absolute beginners can have fun playing alongside regular golfers. Who knows, a competition like this could be the start of a journey that takes someone from an absolute beginner to winning a major!”
