The care home in Beckenham is set to close by month end following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Benedict House is situated on Copers Cope Road had a surprise inspection back in May and the report highlighted that he safety and leadership at the home was inadequate. The report highlighted that, amongst other things there was no leadership at the home, although staff were found to be caring.
The report goes on to say that “We found that action had not always been taken to support people where risks to them had been identified and that the provider’s systems for monitoring the quality of the service were not operating effectively. The provider was consistently failing to operate effective systems to assess, monitor and improve the quality and safety of care to people using the service,”.
A source confirmed that families had been shocked by the decision and that it would close this month.
