The arrests were made after police were informed on July 3rd that a 15 year old girl had been raped by a group of men.
The horrific event took place in Church House Gardens in early July.
Police have revealed that two men aged 21 and 22 were arrested but subsequently released on bail after speaking to an informant and the teenage girl herself.
The case is being investigated by Det const Andy Walker
A police spokesperson said: “It is thought that the victim was raped by two men, after up to four other men had left the park. It is not known if all the men in the park were known to each other.
“At this stage of the investigation the two suspects are described as black men. One was described as having ‘gold teeth’ and the other had a tattoo on his hand.”
He said: “The investigation is moving at a fast pace and I would like to thank everyone who has come forward and spoken to the police so far, we continue to urge anyone with information, or anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious to come forward.
“This offence took place n a public place whilst there was still daylight, and I am confident that someone may have seen or heard something which could assist the investigation.”
“Understandably, the victim has been left highly distressed by this incident and specially trained officers are still in the process of fully gleaning all of the information and detail from her.
