| A council funded school caters for children and young people with severe and complex learning difficulties. The school has places for 67 pupils and an age range of 4 - 19 years old. The eight classes have about 7 - 9 pupils in each class with a teacher and one or two Special Support Assistants. We receive 2½ days of Speech Therapy, 2 days of Physiotherapy and ½ day of Occupational Therapy on a weekly basis.
The aim of the school is to provide the opportunities, environment and specialist help for each pupil to develop intellectually, emotionally and socially and to prepare each pupil to take a positive and active part in his/her own life, as far as possible, within our society.
The school curriculum includes the National Curriculum, Religious Education and other key areas such as the development of PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) skills.
Woodbrook School has excellent links with the local community and regularly uses the nearby swimming pool and leisure centre, as well as the shops and supermarkets in Beckenham. We have two minibuses, which are used for educational visits. The school also has links with local primary and secondary mainstream schools and a weekly link with Bromley College.
